My Story

Little Benny is a nice, older boy who was found roaming a neighborhood all alone. He stayed with us during his stray hold and recovery and is now ready for his happily ever after! He gets along with dogs and cats. Benny loves to go on walks. At times it is difficult to get his leash on but once that is accomplished, he walks nicely on the leash and becomes excited to be going out. Benny only weighed 2 pounds, his teeth were infected, as were his sinuses and ears. He has had oral surgery leaving him with no teeth, all his infections were treated and have cleared up, and he was neutered. While Benny has early stage kidney disease, he is not on medication for this and it just needs to be monitored. We think that he's about 11 years old and he's about 4 lbs. He's considered to be house trained, as long as he has frequent access to the outdoors. Due to his idiosyncrasies that are a result of his past, he will need to be in a patient and understanding adult home. He wants to be loved, yet his fears sometimes cause him to put up his guard. He has a sweetheart side to him and, when he shows it, it is golden! We can't wait for Benny to find someone who will enjoy him for who he is and little by little continue to bring him out of his shell. He will ultimately be a great companion when given the time and patience to feel safe and loved.
