Bentley was originally adopted from Animal Friends in October of 2021. Bentley was returned to us May 2024 due to his family facing financial difficulties and being unable to keep him. His previous family stated that Bentley initially barks at other dogs, but generally warms up and wants to play after sniffing them. Animal Friends requires that Bentley meet any dogs in the home before adoption and believes that he may do best in a home with a female dog. He has never been around cats and did not previously live with children. Bentley is housebroken, likes to occasionally play with toys, and loves spending time outside!
Update July 2024: Bentley went on an adoption trial for a week, and while the family did not feel like they were the best fit for this sweet boy we did learn more about his personality. The adopters said he is a great dog, but they felt that their lifestyle was a bit too busy for him. They attempted to take Bentley out and about with them, but he can be fairly reserved and may prefer someone who is more of a homebody. There was another dog in the home who really wanted to play with Bentley, though Bentley did not seem very interested and may do best with relaxed dogs who prefer just to co-exist. Bentley is still brushing up on his manners and was working on getting comfortable spending time in a crate and not looking for snacks in the trash can. While Bentley is still working to be his best self, the adopters did compliment him on being perfectly housetrained and fantastic with the child in the house (3 years old). We know the perfect home is out there for this sweet boy, could that be with you?
Bentley is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please have their name and ID number ready and contact shelter staff by: (1) visiting Animal Friends during our open hours, (2) calling 513-867-5727, or (3) emailing [email protected].
WE HAVE MORE PETS IN THE SHELTER THAT ARE NOT ON PETFINDER.
