Bernice

BERNICE was abandoned and out loose for a week in Bethel Island. She was fearful of all the people who were trying to help her, so she would run away when approached. We were contacted about her situation and headed out with our trap, and were able to catch her fairly easily. Once in the trap she showed us she was actually friendly and very happy to finally he caught as she greeted us with wagging tail! BERNICE is a very sweet Great Pyrenees approximately 2 yrs of age. She was quite under weight when we first trapped her, but since then has steadily been gaining weight and is currently at about 65-70 lbs. BERNICE can be a bit shy still with new people, but sweet talk and gentle pets wins her over. She is also a little skittish with loud noises, unfamiliar things/places and busy environments. She was a doll for the groomer, and actually enjoyed her spa day! BERNICE currently is being fostered on a ranch in a more rural area and will do best in that setting. She has experience with cows and horses… and she has been tested with goats, sheep pigs, Ducks turkeys chickens and responded appropriately to all. BERNICE Is house trained and crate trained as well and will/can sleep either inside or outside. She does process the natural patrolling and guarding characteristics of the breed, as well as the wonderful temperament and love for her humans. BERNICE’S Best home would be a ranch or farm where she can do her job as well as be a part of her human family. She is good with other dogs her size, but does not seem to like small dogs or cats. BERNICE’S Adoption fee is $350 which includes a current health, examination and current vaccinations, spay, microchip, flea and deworming treatments, along with any other medical or dental that was deemed necessary by our veterinarian
