Bernie

This is Bernie... our sweet Doodle boy! Bernie came to GRRAND from a shelter in late November. He was in terrible condition upon intake and required shaving due to such deep mats. He was also quite unsocialized and has needed a lot of behavioral support to become ready for adoption. We're so excited for Bernie to be able to continue on the next leg of his journey to finding his forever home! This affectionate boy now loves to jump up and give hugs to his caretakers He will need a family with the time and patience to continue helping him come out of his shell to see all the great things in the world and to give him the attention and exercise he desires. He needs a secure home with an above-ground fenced yard because he could be a flight risk. Bernie resource guards and since he cannot be retrained to change this behavior, he needs a home without any kids, grandkids or children visiting the home. With his resource guarding behaviors, Bernie does not like it when other dogs or people get around his food (or favorite things) so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs however, he does love to play with other dogs and does great with them! We do not believe he should go to a home with cats.
