** If you are interested in adopting Betty, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Betty is a very gorgeous, young Chocolate Lab who is coming to Farfel's Rescue in Boulder from a small, over-crowded, high-kill shelter in Houston, TX. She was picked up as a stray (very common in Houston) and brought into a shelter where no dog should ever be. Farfel's Rescue was reached out to to help this sweet girl, and couldn't resist. Betty now is on her way to Colorado to find her forever home. Betty is a 10 month old, 40 lb Chocolate Labrador. From Betty's foster: "Betty is the sweetest girl. She is calm in her kennel and when I go to let her out she meets me at the door with kisses and a waggy tail. She is easy going and greets new dogs with a wagging tail, hoping that they will want to play with her. She walks great on a leash and makes friends everywhere she goes. Betty is pretty darn calm for her young age! She is treat motivated and never stops smiling and wagging her tail. She’s very photogenic! She enjoys getting pets and playing. S he’s a great medium size and a total adventure dog. Her coat has this pretty wave down the back too." Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. Betty is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations and spayed, to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
