??BETTY?? Meet Betty, the sassy señorita who is equal parts goofy and sweet. Don’t let the pictures fool you as this 30lbs ‘pocket pittie’ appears larger in her photos than in real life! This 2-year-old cutie may have had a rough start in the streets of Cancun, but she’s left that behind and is learning what life is like with a family. Betty was rescued when she was pregnant, tick/flea infested, and oh so skinny! Despite her challenging past, her bright spirit and her constant wagging tail is a testament to her resilience. Betty is a social butterfly when she is properly introduced to dogs and is great around dog-savvy cats. She does try to chase all the critters, but is learning how to leave them. She’s a pro at playtime, but her new home will need to set playtime boundaries and to reinforce her impulse control skills. She loves bones and they are a great distraction for her. Betty has really great recall and amazing at car rides! Very great motivated & has proven to be a super smart and obedient pup and has been mastering calm time, threshold training and ‘Leave it’. Betty has overcome a tough beginning but she is a relatively easy dog to train. She just needs a dedicated owner who will show her the ropes, especially how to interact with other dogs on a leash. She is learning the confines of leash walks and is a work in progress on harnessing her excitement around dogs when leashed. It’s completely understandable that she is frustrated with leashes, as in her past life she was a free roaming dog. Betty has been assessed by a certified trainer (Thank you Liberty!!!) and will come with tips and techniques on how to continue her leash walks like a pro. A bit about Betty: ?
