My Story

Betty Boop's smile is contagious! You can't help but be happy around this sweet girl because she is the most affectionate, playful, and silly dog. She loves all people she meets and dogs of any size. She also likes the cat in her foster home and is very curious, but it is not a two way street. We suggest no cats. Her ideal home will have another dog around her size to play with and no small children since she can be a bit of a bull in a china shop. Playing is something she really wants to do and a wrestle and zoomie firend will be great for her. She is the sweetest girl who will give you all the sloppy kisses and cuddles you could ever need. She enjoys car rides, walks, and fetch. Betty visited Oak Grove Animal Hospital for a dental cleaning and a check-up. She was extremely thin when she joined us, but we are happy to report that she now sits at a healthy 50lbs. This girl is short and squatty, and we just love her! Dr. Murphy also gave us some unexpected news - she estimates that Betty is closer to 2 years of age as opposed to 5! We are guessing that Betty Boop is an American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog mix. We have also learned that Betty can only have durable toys and no stuffies or small toys. She also needs to be in a home that does not have things lying around for her to chew on. She does eat things she is not supposed so for her safety and health we are looking for a home without toys and objects that she would have access too. Other than needing a large breed playmate and clean envioronment, Betty Boop is so close to perfect. Stop by to meet her at one of our adoption events or visit rescuerowinc.org to fill out an adoption application! *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee + tax Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee + tax Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
