My Story

Big Man is his name, looking tough despite being a big ol' baby, is his game. This boy is sooo striking, but you already know that - it's why you're here. When I first met him, I was struck by the combo of a big ol' puppy bouncing around in what sure looks like a full-grown body. It's easy to expect controlled and obedient when you first see him; he holds himself with confidence and his frame will convince you he is all grown up but turn that expectation back to big puppy and you will be spot on. He is almost overly eager to play with new dog friends, partially the bully in him, partially the puppy. While he waits for his forever family, he will be practicing his doggie social skills because just like us, dogs need to be taught manners. Like any kid, we look past the right now to the part of them that we can see in their personality. What we see is a very loving boy with an enthusiasm for everything new he gets to experience and a tuned in attention that is typically easy to train. This spotted nose boy is estimated to be 11 months old and weighs 65 lbs., with more to come. With rescues, exact age and breed are always a bit of a mystery, but one thing we can guarantee: Big Man is an attraction that does not disappoint. Want to see him so you know the face while you read more? Here you go! https://youtu.be/BA0Ra8Jt6lY Big Man is lucky enough to be fostered in a home that is giving him a head-start on all the things needed to be the best-boy. This includes house-training = already mastered, crate training = solid, leash skills = a perfect base. And all those intangible things, exposure to vacuums and knocks on the door, so even though he is a rescue, he comes with some house-sense. My take-away from Big Man is he is ready to actively participate in the whole-world, meet the people, play with the toys, explore and spread his cuteness around. But once he's done exploring, interacting, and playing, he's more than happy to chill out on the couch beside you. Big Man's ideal forever home includes a yard where he can bounce around and a tolerant but playful friend who would be patient when he is awkwardly excited. He would also love to be the center of your world and has the confidence suited for an only-dog home if that's your preference. Big Man currently lives harmoniously with other dogs and cats in his foster home. When we introduced him to our house cat, we were not fully convinced he wouldn't attempt to play his favorite game - chase. So, we would encourage a cat free home to avoid any poorly matched games of chase. Also, he is quiet and not quick to join in when other dogs are barking - we love that! When it comes to learning, Big Man is eager to please, attentive, and food-motivated, so teaching him new tricks should be a breeze. Although he is already crate trained and potty trained, he will need a tour of appropriate potty spots once he is forever-home. If you have been searching for an absolutely striking bully boy who is lovable, friendly, and a goofy guy, Big Man is here! If there is anything that isn't touched on here, please send in an email; we are willing to test or expose Big Man to anything you need to ensure he's the perfect match for you. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you've found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog's needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn't stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: - 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) - A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx. $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week) - One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan - 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan - Coupons for a fun visit to Petco - Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
