BIGGIE MAC is a whopper all right. He weighed in at 69 pounds and is estimated at five years of age. Staff has listed him as a mixture of three dog breeds: Anatolian Shepherd, Mountain Cur, and Plot Hound. He is as pretty as his pictures and he is a nice fellow, too. Staff has already been able to successfully pair him with another dog at the shelter. So, he does have the run of a kennel and a playmate. Thanks to a partnership between UT and Cumberland County Animal Shelter, BIGGIE was selected for a sponsored neuter surgery on Tuesday, July 2. As a result, he will be able to go home the same day that he is adopted. After his surgery, he will be returned to the shelter to recover and will be available for adoption appointments as early as Friday, July 5. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the appointment in case you do decide to adopt BIGGIE. Even better, take a large crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have adopted! Safety first
