My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BISCUIT ~3-4 years old. Good with dogs and older, considerate kids. Cats TBD. Fenced yard and companion animal required. GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only. Greetings German Shepherd fans and admirers. My name is biscuit and I am one of the newest members of GSRA. I am a lovely petite little girl of about 50 pounds, and my coat is the color of a perfectly cooked biscuit, thus the name! I am a German Shepherd mix or as we like to say in the rescue, an honorary Shepherd. My foster mom suspects that I may be a German Shepherd lab mix. I have a short flat coat. I am approximately four years old, and not much is known about my past. I was picked up as a stray, and found myself in a small rural shelter rapidly running out of time. Although I was scared, I put on my big girl paws when people from the rescue came to meet me. I was well-behaved and I even rolled over for some belly rubs. I did fine with the dogs they tested me with and then they introduced me to these small furries called cats. Oh my God, they were terrifying, I wanted nothing to do with them. I am a fun little girl. I am housebroken and crate trained. I like to have some attention, but I'm not pushy. I adore other dogs and I'm really hoping that I will have a furry companion in my forever home. I am very food motivated and learn routines quickly. I'm also fairly quiet girl. I love to play in the yard and am equally content just chilling out while you watch TV or work on the computer I am still learning about the great big world out there. I went to my first German Shepherd event recently, and although it was busy and overwhelming I did my best and gained confidence as the day went on. The big city event was a big change for this little old country girl! So what do you think? Everybody loves biscuits! If you think I might be a match for you, please reach out and meet me. I have these pesky little things called Heartworms. I am going to be undergoing treatment in the beginning of August and should be in tiptop shape for my new family by mid September! Hoping to meet you soon and impress you.
