When you walk up to his kennel he greets you with rude sounding barking. Why would he put on a fake mean persona you ask? The answer is simple: the treat tax. Hes realized that if he pretends to be scary people will give him treats to try and win him over. And hes right we do! One treat is all it takes to become best friends. Then hes instantly calm and ready to be loved on. Even though hes not being honest, he is really cute. So were just going to keep letting him run his little scheme until he finds a home of his own. Youll be rewarded too if you play into his hand. He is the cuddle master and just wants to snuggle up to you as much as possible. After youve payed the treat tax Blaze is calm, sweet, friendly, and submissive. He enjoys belly rubs and will take his treats like a sweetheart from your hand. He seems to have had some practice sitting on command too. Hes also gotten along well with other dogs in shelter playgroups.
