My Story

***Please read profile in its entirety. If the profile is visible we are still accepting applications at the link in this profile on our website. Do not send a Petfinder inquiry. Due to a high volume of inquiries, only applicants matching the adopter profile will be contacted.*** If Bob was a human, he would be invited to give TED Talks on resiliency and courage. This boy has been through so much and won people over with the potential they see in him. He has a little further to go, but maybe the right adopter can see that potential too…? Bob was dumped, literally. He was seen running around the top of a mountain in rural BC and so scared that he had to be trapped. His rescuer soon saw that despite some of his feral and fearful mannerisms, he was a dog that longed to connect with humans. He stayed in boarding for some time, living outside, and he drew the attention of SORS founder Jenn. She offered to take him on field trips and discovered what a fun and friendly guy he could be. She decided to give him a chance in a foster home in the big city. She knew it would be a lot to ask of him, but he has been an absolute champ given this huge transition in his life. He had to learn all about living in a house and a city with leashes and sidewalk and roads, and he has been a star student. In the mths his amazing foster has been working with him, he’s fully housetrained, crate trained, has no separation anxiety, and is amazing with other people and dogs in the home. He has discovered the joys of fetch and toys and snuggles and it’s amazing to see! He is estimated to be around 3-4 years old and is a bigger boy, around 75 pounds. Bob loves his people and doesn’t mind meeting new ones if they are calm and respectful of his space (if they have snacks, that helps too!). He is wonderful with other dogs and seems to draw confidence from them. He is still cautious about scary or sudden stimuli and going outside in busy areas. If there are too many people, construction noises, vehicles or nonsense going on, it can be too much for his country boy brain and he’ll shut down.
