Bodhi - Beetlejuice

"It's been two months since we started fostering Bodhi (formerly Beetlejuice) from El Paso Animal Services. When we first picked him up to foster, he would not make eye contact, he wouldn't engage with humans, wouldn't engage with dogs. He just hid. He was terrified. We would let him into the backyard and it would take 30 minutes to get him to come back inside, even then he would ONLY come back inside if he saw an empty room. Despite being so deeply terrified, he has NEVER been snappy or aggressive.

After a week at home with us, he finally started playing with our other dogs. He did whatever they did and he went where they went. He liked that he could hide within the pack.

Another few weeks went by and Bodhi started doing more on his own. He would go sleep whenever HE wanted to, or play with toys if HE wanted to. He started to follow us around (still keeping his distance), but he would hang out with us, even if he was the only dog in the room. This is where we're at today.

Things he loves:
·Eating all the food and snacks
·Playing with any and all dogs
·A routine
·his kennel (safe space)

Things he loves and hates equally:
·Being petted (although he seems to really enjoy having his ears rubbed)
·Going for walks
·Steam showers

Things he hates:
· car rides

Bodhi is a dog's dog. He will be a great addition for someone who wants to get a BFF for their current dog.

He is low maintenance, doesn't bark or jump or chew up things he shouldn't. He isn't the bravest or most curious dog so he doesn't get into stuff. He will be THE MOST LOYAL friend your dog will ever have ??

We can tell Bodhi wants so badly to just be a normal, people loving dog - he tries. Truly, he tries - and he is making so much progress EVERY. SINGLE. DAY."
