My Story

Bohdi's story is one of love and the remarkable spirit of rescue dogs!! He was dumped at a gas station where he found a way to survive on his own for over 8 months. Bohdi affectionately earned his name as a combination of Beau because he is such a sweetheart and Diesel because he was living at the diesel pump. This handsome canine was abandoned at a gas station by his people where he relied on the kindness of the clerks and customers to feed him. At night he took shelter behind the dumpster or in a dirt cave. His days were occupied with searching for food to stay alive. When we became aware of his situation we knew we had to do something. We weren't sure what to expect but when a volunteer went out to catch him, Bohdi was so ready rescued, he walked right into the crate and went home with her. No fuss, no growling, no fear. He understand we were there to help. His foster reports that Sheldon is a gentleman and very grateful house guest! He is friendly and deferential to the other dogs in his home and is content in his crate when his foster is not home. He has bonded quickly and deeply with his foster mom and will do the same with his new forever family. Initially Bohdi would not leave his foster mom's side when she took him outside in the yard. He didn't want to even explore the yard without her. After a week or so Bohdi was comfortable exploring the yard on his own but he does not like to be outside for long. He has had enough of outdoor living. When we took Bohdi to the vet we learned he is heart worm positive. His treatment will be covered by the rescuce Please read about heart worm and its treatment: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. His heartworm treatment involves 2 appointments in August.
