My Story

Meet bold Burley! Burley is a 12 month old Australian Cattle Dog/German Shepherd Mix and he weighs about 45-50 lbs. Burley was found as a stray in November 2023 and believed to be dumped as he was not near any nearby homes or residences. He is a playful pup and loves any kind of activity that he can join in. Burley gets along well with most other dogs, especially younger dogs that like to play as much as he does. He is developing some dominance as he has grown up and seems to respect female authority more-so than male (which is our fault as our rescue is run by some pretty bad a** women). He doesn't mind cats and seems to have a healthy curiosity about them, but still respects them from a distance unless they engage with him. Burley absolutely adores adults and children, and will do his best to wiggle into someone's lap (and their heart). He is rides well in the car and is learning how to walk on leash without pulling (he's a smart cookie and we think he will thrive with an owner/family who will put in the effort of training him). Burley is also in the process of housetraining and is starting to get the idea about it, but is still learning. He has mastered our doggy doors and does not hesitate to shoot outside! If you are looking for a fun loving and active pup, consider meeting Burley!
