Bones

Spent some quality time with Bones! Yes Bones! Bones is one of the shy boys. He is under 2 and has been at K9BB since a couple months old. He was pulled from a bait-dog situation and has been hunkered down since. He's a morning kind of boy, always a ray of sunshine for his first walk. But the moment he gets to his kennel, he shuts down. He immediately isolates himself in his dog house but will occasionally come out for treats from people he knows. I think he's been in the shelter life too long and is starting to get frustrated. I took him for a long walk before his trip to his kennel and he loved it! He let me pet him all over and I learned he likes a good ear rub and even a butt scratch! We worked a little bit on leash manners and he was super compliant. He is motivated to learn with the right attitude and he was extremely grateful for our first one-on-one He did go straight into his house when I put him in his kennel but I quickly got him to come out and every time I went back...in he was waiting for me. Again, there is power in these one-on-ones!
