Bongo is and Extended Stay Friend and a TDS Pet Of The Week. His adoption fee is waived! Meet Bongo, a 2-year-old Boxer mix, who is looking for a forever home. He's a squeaky toy enthusiast and can't resist a good butt scratch! Bongo has been in foster and has learned much while there. Bongos fosters have stated how he was very quick to learn his potty routine and is fully house and kennel trained to the point were he will go into his kennel on command and sleep there through the night. They also have told us that bongo get excited for when guests come over but has good manners and does not jump up on them. Bongo loves going outside to play fetch and will drop the ball on command, he also love to lay out in the sun and watch the birds. Ready to add some joy to your life? Bongo is ready for his forever home! He is on the lookout for friends who match his playful vibe and respect his space. He should do well in a home with kids 12 years of age and older. He thrives with respectful play and having space to himself at times. Bongo is not a big fan of cats or other dogs and would need a household that is free of other pets. Bongo recently went on a Doggy Day Out with one of our fantastic volunteers and had a great time. He enjoyed a pup cup, exploring on multiple walks, and practiced walking nice- he got a perfect score. He was described as calm, friendly, laidback and he loves his toys! Here is what volunteers have to say about him: "You give me some great pups to take out. Bongo is one of them! He did super on his day out. He loves car rides! He knows to wait before exiting the car. At the initial getting out, Bongo gets excited and will pull a bit but then he will settle down and walk nicely for you. He is very friendly and curious and finds trains fascinating! He loves to just watch and explore the great outdoors!
