My Story

To apply to adopt Bonnie --- Visit www.lovingheartanimalshelter.org/adopt to view the adoption process and fill out the dog adoption application! BONNIE BLUE Female | Pittie mix | Arrived in 2014 Age: 13 years Size: Large, 60-70lbs. Good with young kids: No Good with older kids: 15 and up Good with other pets: No Fence preferred: Yes House trained: Partially Crate trained: Unknown Meet Bonnie! Sweet, athletic, and just a bit silly, Bonnie is more than ready to find a home. Bonnie has been in our care for over 3,100 days, which can also be calculated as over 74,400 hours or 4,464,000 minutes. Mind blowing, right? Why has she been with us for so long? Bonnie requires a home with a securely fenced-in yard and no other pets. Those things, paired with her outward appearance, are the only things we know of that are keeping adopters away. But if you know Bonnie, you'll know that she's a friendly, happy, carefree girl - not at all the "mean" type of dog that people think pit bulls are. Bonnie loves to snuggle close on the couch, but treats and tennis balls are also very important to her. In fact, tennis balls are her favorite thing in the whole wide world - you can often find her blissfully rolling around on the ground with a ball in her mouth and her paws in the air. It's precious. And as far as treats are concerned, Bonnie loves anything you have to give her! Doggy biscuits, green beans, Kongs filled with peanut butter - she loves them all. Since Bonnie can be super focused on balls and treats at times, we recommend a home with older kids (15 and up) who understand how to trade Bonnie for the things she loves most. Since Bonnie is a little strong on a leash, a securely fenced-in yard where she can run and play to her heart's content would be wonderful. If there's any dog in our care who deserves a home the most, it's Bonnie. She is our longest resident and we would love to see her enjoy her final years to the max in the comfort of a real home. Will you give her a chance?
