Boo is up to date on all shots, spayed and healthy. She is on monthly Heartworm preventative.
Boo showed up in my front yard this past Halloween with the trick or treaters (My 3 year old named her Boo because that's what the ghosts say). She was emaciated and had a flea collar on that was so tight it was almost strangling her. She was following around large groups of kids begging for any little scrap of food she could get.
My first instinct when I saw her from a distance was to shoo her away (our neighbors let their dogs run free and I thought she was one of theirs) but when she got closer and I noticed she was starving to death I had to help. After many phone calls we found that Boo had no previous vetting and no home that was looking for her so we took her in. Boo had no manners and no training at all and we have put a lot of time and love into her. She was so sad at first she did not even wag her tail for the first month we had her here. Now she is ecstatic to see us and loves to lean into my chest for a good cuddle and some kisses. She looks at me with that huge smile and those bat-sized floppy ears and it makes me melt.
Boo is now a healthy 48 lbs. She is a very energetic dog. She plays well with my Black Lab (male) but he allows her to be in charge, and that's just the way she likes it. She is a rough player with the other dogs and should not go to a home with other female dogs or with males that cannot tolerate rough play. She does not start fights with other dogs but she LOVES to play rough.
She likes my children (3 yrs old and 16 years old) but is way too energetic for my 3 year old and will knock her down so she has to go to a home without small children.
Boo is crate trained and will happily go right into her crate with no arguments. Boo sits on command but is so silly that when you tell her to lay down she just spins in circles! LOL! Boo plays fetch, and LOVES to play tug of war for hours with my Lab, so if you have a male dog that loves to tug and needs a female friend then Boo is the one!
I don't know how she would be with cats as I have none.
Boo is in a foster home in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
