This guy showed up in my neighborhood skinny, skittish, and shivering. He was either dumped or badly lost and was looking for food and needed a home. He would not come to me or any other male trying to give him some food or some attention. It took a couple of days to coax him into letting my wife put a leash on him. We brought him in and fed him, got him fixed (he didn't think that was such a great favor!) gave him his rabies and other vaccinations.
Now a job loss has forced us to go to FL to take another and we are in an apartment that won't let Boris in. Boris is a mid-sized dog and loves the water, seemingly discovering it one day on a hike, splashing around like it was his first time in a creek. Boris has learned to sit, lay down, will come when called, and is good with other dogs. He's still got a little bit of puppy energy, but it is winding down and after the initial skittishness followed by rambunctiousness, he's calmed down considerably.
Boris barks like a girl. It's pretty funny to hear him when the neighborhood dogs get going when the UPS truck is out or the utilities - Boris has the girlish higher pitched but lower volume bark.
He's very lovable and I wish I could take him to FL with me, I just can't. Please somebody give him a place to run around and he'll be your friend forever.
