My Story

ADOPTED! - Look at this sweet face, and you'll wonder why Brownie's owners never claimed her after the shelter had picked her up as a stray. You couldn't ask for a better furry companion! Brownie is extremely loving and smart, she's housebroken, she's well behaved, and she enjoys playing with older children (as long as they treat her gently and with respect). She absolutely loves going for walks on a leash, and she is good with other dogs. Brownie weighs 18 lbs., and our best guess is that she is about eight years old. She is a quiet, laid-back dog with many healthy years ahead of her. We would prefer that she not be a latchkey dog, so we're thinking she would be a wonderful companion for someone who works out of his/her home, works part-time, or for someone who is retired (and Brownie would love it when the grandkids came to visit!). Brownie would enjoy a safely fenced yard (please, no invisible fencing) and--while she is good with people of all ages--we would prefer she not be adopted by a family with VERY young children (under 6), because she might be inadvertently injured. Brownie is in good health, and she has been spayed, immunized, heartworm tested, microchipped--plus she just had a dentistry done so now she has a sparkly smile! Brownie's adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in possibly adopting Brownie, please e-mail us ([email protected]) and tell us a little about yourself, your family situation, your schedule, etc. Then, if we feel you would be a good fit for Brownie, we will e-mail you an adoption application.
Please click on "One Starfish Rehoming Connections" under the photo to read more about our rescue's adoption policies and fees. We do not operate a humane society or shelter, so we do not have a facility that is open to the public. Our dogs are fostered by volunteers in private homes, and are not available for viewing until an adoption application is filled out and references are checked. Please read the information on our home page (by clicking on our rescue name above Brownie's photo) before contacting us.
