My Story

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Bruce is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. He is social with handlers but overtime has begun to deteriorate in care, leash biting and mouthing and scratching handlers. He is also highly dog reactive. Medically, Bruce is apparently healthy. There is an adorable video of me on an ACC's TikTok page. Click here to experience the cuteness! All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered when appropriate. Please check here for updated adoption hours. A bit about me: Bruce was found tied on the street before he was brought to Manhattan ACC by a Good Samaritan. My ideal home: While we don't have a history on Bruce, we do know he's a young, enthusiastic, and social dog who will thrive with daily mental and physical activities. To keep him happily engaged and exercised, we recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and fun hide-and-seek games, along with plenty of physical exercise. With the right activities, his energy and enthusiasm will be positively directed! Good with other pets? Bruce is a regular participant in our doggy play groups! He would get along well with new doggy friends with proper introductions and socialization. We always suggest slow introductions with resident pets, and we offer a 2-week trial adoption to help you see if Bruce is a good fit with your family. Since ACC doesn't test with cats, we're not sure how he'd do with feline friends, but we can help you with tips and advice! Good with kids? Since Bruce came to us as a stray, we don't have much information about his past. For now, we think he'll do best in a home without young children under 5, as he's still learning his basic manners. How are my leash manners? Bruce would benefit from some leash training. He will need some positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach him. We are happy to provide resources and advice on how to help Bruce with his leash manners. Primary Color: Cream Weight: 66.5lbs Age: 1yrs 3mths 2wks
