Bruce here!!! I'm a 9.5 year old, 40lb Sharpei mix who loves going for long walks as much as I love being a couch potato. I started off being the star of the house, but have had a hard time losing a lot of the spotlight once kids started coming along. I am much better suited to a home where I have constant attention and adoration. No toddlers or small children; kids 16+ is best. I'm in excellent health, eat a raw diet, and love being outside. I'm not particularly fond of cats or other dogs, preferring my own space. I do very well with routine and rules, so although I might try to bend the rules occasionally, I react very well to being corrected. I've shown evidence of having been clicker trained, but otherwise easily understand the basics like "sit", "lie down", and "come". Because my Sharpei side typically becomes very focused on interesting stuff, I'm told I don't do very well off-leash. I love people, however I don't like being picked up, and need to be brushed gently and with patience. I do not have fond memories of the vet from earlier in my life, so things like ear drops, having my nails clipped, my temperature taken,or or my teeth brushed aren't tasks I deal well with. I am however more than happy to get as many scratches, pets, and rubs as you can give out, and love long, long walks.
