Meet the Handsome Cheech Buddy! He came to us on 6/23 as a stray. He was very sad when he came into our care as he was wondering why his owner left him behind on the streets. Cheech buddy loves to sniff around and explore. He spends time on walks enjoying the rays of sunshine and taking in the different scents around him. After he is done outside, he loves to cuddle and be the sidekick you never knew you needed. If you're interested in this very sweet, docile pup! Please come meet him at ACCT Philly! Medically Cheech Buddy came to us healthy on 6/23 but he was observed on 6/27 by staff and they stated, "Cheech Buddy cries when trying to pee on walks. After being examined it was assessed by staff that he should be monitored to see if symptoms continue because there were no apparent symptoms during the exam. Additionally Cheech Buddy has shown to have many positive dog meets in the shelter but, we would recommend a slow introduction for him into any new pack! On 7/15 staff noted: "Cheech pulled a bit on his leash when walking but was very docile in the yard, he would keep to himself and sniff the grass unless I made an effort to engage him. When I did he was very happy to run around with me. He appears to know his name and would turn and come to me when called, including running into my arms for pets. He seemed housebroken and went to the bathroom immediately when we were outside. He was overall very loving and sweet. On 6/29 staff noted: "Cheech Buddy was so happy to meet other dogs through the fence, it literally made him so happy and lots of play bowing and running back and forth. He is a larger dog but walks nicely once in a harness hold and is very friendly. He is stunningly handsome and was easy to take in and out of his kennel. Very friendly and clearly loves other dogs. On 6/24 staff noted: "Cheech Buddy was wiggling at me from his kennel, and happily took a treat when offered. He was eager to get out of kennel and did try to push out a bit but remained fairly easy to leash. Exited without issue. He did not want to return and did attempt pancaking, but with some leash pressure and me stepping in he went." On 6/24 staff noted: "Cheech Buddy is a social guy! He followed me around the room wagging his tail and allowed all handling, leaning in for more. He is a lover, just wants to be by your side getting attention. He loves treats, sits for them, and takes them gently. He remains pretty gentle when you go to his level and doesn't jump much but can mouth a little bit (gently)."
