Buckingham

I have fostered the Windy City litter-Bean, Buckingham, Willis, Pullman, Hot Dog, Za, Lake, River, and Lollapalooza-and their mom Windy since the pups were 2 1/2 weeks old. They are smart affectionate puppies who come running when they see us. Since they were four weeks old, we have tried to introduce them to at least one new family every day, so they have met and been handled by children and adults of all ages. They enjoy playing with my dog and my granddog who are on the large side. We've also tried to introduce them to all sorts of noises and experiences, so they're accustomed to construction noise, traffic noise, yard equipment noise. They usually stop and listen, but aren't afraid of much. Like all healthy puppies, they play hard and they sleep hard. They are all big on eye contact-often checking in with us-and they all expect to be picked up. Whether they're going to stay on our laps depends on which puppy we're talking about, but there are some definite lap dogs in the group. Most of them will not eat until they have been picked up and pet. They have gotten a jumpstart on careers as therapy dogs as they have each over time visited a very ill friend who needed a smile. They have great genes. Their mom is intelligent, loving, and funny, and those are characteristics we see in each of the pups.
