Hello, everyone! My name is “Bud” and I came to White Paws from Ohio. My original family got me as a pup, kept me for 9 years and then moved to Florida WITHOUT ME! That’s right! They dumped me at an animal shelter! Knowing I was an older gentleman and that the those places don’t offer the most comfy of accommodations, some nice people arranged for me to leave the shelter and come here to stay with a different family until I find my forever home. I am a mellow, low-maintenance type of guy. I love to be around people, so I don’t much like being confined to a crate. But, I will go in there if needed. I don’t get into mischief when left out in the house on my own and I am house broken. My favorite activity is lounging around on my doggie bed or at your feet with my favorite Kong toy close by. I get along great with other dogs and I ignore cats. I really like being fussed over, getting brushed and petted. I am also fond of riding around with my foster mom in the SUV. I need a boost to get in and a little help stepping down to get out. I NEVER get car sick and am a very well behaved passenger. By the way, I am kind of big. I weigh a bit over 90 pounds and yes, I love food and treats. I have been watching my weight since I came to rescue because it is healthier for my joints and all-around well-being. I like to go for short walks and am able to easily climb a few steps, but large flights of stairs may be too difficult. I avoid those here. I just want to be a companion and loyal friend to someone who will appreciate me.
