My Story

Two adorable little strays just dropped in at our "Drive-Through Shot Clinic"! Bud and sister Amy are now playing happily at The Pet Place. Bud was just a tad more shy than Amy, but he didn't whimper or fuss at getting his shots, being wormed, or having a happy bath. Now he is a loving pet with you, but loves to play with other dogs. Bud is not the dominant dog in the pack, and will flop over on his back for you or them in a minute. His philosophy seems to be "quiet and gentle." His hair looks wirey but is very soft. According to our favorite breed guide, The Mutt Book, these two look like "Ibish Terhounds." That would be a mix of the Irish Terrier and "some other stuff." All we know is that these are fantastic little kids. Bud has been sponsored so his adoption fee is $ 50.00. UPDATE: Buddie is very quiet, not a barker. He loves to run and play, but gets "smooshed" a lot by the other runners. We guess Buddie to be a bi-partisan conciliator!! He is kennel trained, and on his way to being housetrained. It looks like he is going to be on the small, lanky side of "medium size." UPDATE: Amy has been adopted and is doing well with her new family. Now let's save Bud. Call 903-938-7297 for more information, or visit us at The Pet Place, 1901 Jefferson Ave., Marshall, TX (M - F 10 am to 5 pm and by appointment).

The adoption fee for dogs starts at $95 and will be higher in some cases. Included with the adoption are the pet's spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, parvo/distemper inoculation, a collar with id tag, and a training leash. Pets are given at least a first worming and may have been provided other veterinarian procedures, such as dental care, as needed. An adoption application can be downloaded (in doc. format) at www.hshcpaws.org and submitted by e-mail.

Animals too young for spaying or neutering may NOT be adopted outside of Marshall, and we can not respond to inquiries asking for exceptions.
