Hi, I'm Buddy! People say I'm a lot like Buddy the Elf because I'm playful, so happy to be here, get so much joy out of life, and am curious about everything around me! I love playing with my toys and cuddles in equal amounts and really love meeting new people. I try to get everyone to pet me on my walks, and I get super excited for walks! I'm now a fit & trim 65lbs and even though I am 8 years old, I'm still full of life! While I'm currently not fond of dogs, I am easy to redirect and don't bother other pups when I'm out and about. Plus, my foster mom is helping me try to make canine friends! I am housebroken and crate trained but I don't even need to be crated when left alone. I'll just nap and wait to greet you at the door when you get home. My foster mom says I make her smile and laugh every day and she thinks I'll make my forever someone very happy! The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2021 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
