Buddy - Pending !

August 6/06 - Now that he's been at the shelter for a while, we have more to report about Buddy's personality. And what a personality.

He's a fun dog and doesn't seem to be quite as hyper as when he first arrived, but he does still have loads of energy. But more importantly, he needs love.

As his breed indicates, he is a working dog used for hunting and although he may not be trained to retrieve birds, he definitely has the natural instinct to run through the woods and fields looking for something to bring back to his owner. He loves to run off-leash, and once he's off, he's in a world of his own, ignoring repeated calls to come. Playing fetch with a ball and a thrower gives him something to retrieve, while burning off some excess energy. But more importantly, he needs love.

Buddy would do well with someone who wanted to get involved with agility trials as he is very bright and learns quickly. But more importantly, he needs love.

Speaking of love, Buddy loves water! Did I say loves water? Buddy loves water. He lives for his playtime in the kiddie pool and running through the sprinkler at the end of a very hot day. But more importantly, he needs love.

Note: He gets along very well with the other dogs at the shelter and has not shown any signs of aggression. If you have a high-energy lifestyle and would love a dog that can keep up AND you have lots of love to give, then we'd like to meet you and introduce you to our Buddy.

Buddy recently arrived at the shelter as a stray. He is approx 4 years old and has just been neutered. Buddy would be best suited to a breed experienced home. He is rather nervous about being at the shelter and is very energetic. Please come by the shelter to check out this beautiful boy.
