Bug

"Bug" is short for Lovebug, the name given to her by the older foster parents who found her abandoned on a dirt road near their house. Here are fun facts about this sweet girl: Our vet estimates she is between 1-2 years old. She still likes to chew things and loves her Nylabone. She has been spayed. She loves to ride in a car. She is completely potty-trained. She interacts well with her foster parents' 2 old dogs, but she gets excited and becomes overly playful with them quickly. She quickly submits when they "put her in her place." She is VERY interested in cats, but her foster parents have been reluctant to trust her off leash with them. She responds well to PEANUT BUTTER! She's learned to sit, stay, and shake with a little PB for motivation! She's learning to leashwalk without pulling nicely in foster care. She is afraid of sticks, the broom in particular. She enjoys sharing the recliner with her foster dad watching TV, but that being said... She's a high energy dog! Would not recommend for a home with small children, as she's still learning to "curb her enthusiasm!" Preliminary heartworm testing was inconclusive, but the lab returned a positive result a few days later. She has no symptoms and is currently in the first phase of treatment and responding well. She'll need follow up care. We're hoping Bug finds a home with a kind, patient and active individual or couple who are currently dogless or have a larger more mature male dog who will help welcome her into their home.
