Bullwinkle

Bullwinkle is an adorable shepherd mix who is in desperate need of a home and a family to call his own. Bullwinkle seeks love and affection - he loves to cuddle up with his person and prefers to sleep in bed next to them. He is mostly dog friendly - he has been living with 3 female pitbulls and does perfectly find with females similar in size or bigger. He would also do well as your one and only. He is not recommend with other males or smaller dogs. Bullwinkle seems very interested in cats, perhaps too interested and we recommend a home without cats Bullwinkle is a very inquisitive dog. He loves to explore and is curious. He loves to go on walks. Another favorite for Bullwinkle is car rides. He absolutely loves a car ride. LOVES IT!!!! If he gets into the garage, then he is just convinced he is going for a ride and get super excited. He is also a bit of a foodie! Very food motivated. He likes his food and thinks that his food should be his and that everyone elses food, should also be his! So he is best fed alone if around others and right now if it is in reach, he thinks its fair game. This motivation probably comes from the fact that he was severely underweight when rescued, most likely having to scrouge up food. Bullwinkle is friendly, but after being a stray, he bonds quickly with his family and it is important that he keeps social so that he does not become protective. He loves peanut butter, so newcomers can win him over with some PB! He can be crated, but he is not a huge fan of the crate as it does stress him a bit. He also is scared during thunderstorms and fireworks - again most like from his earlier hard days on the street. Bullwinkle is only 45lbs and seeking someone who can give him lots of love, time to warm up and decomress and learn that the world is not so scary. He will be your forever companion and be forever gratful to the person who opens his heart and home to him.
