My Story

I’m Burke and I’m the sweetest, goofiest dog around! I love to cuddle and sit on your lap. Cuddling is one of my favorite things to do! I’m curious about everything and will follow you everywhere in the house. I’m dog and cat friendly. I will steal all the chew toys from the other fosters and hoard them. I think everything is mine and I’m working on sharing. I’m deaf and a very smart boy who knows how to sit, lay down, and stay. I’m eager to learn and very treat motivated. I get super excited when the leash comes out as I knows it means I’m going for a walk or a car ride. The car ride often ends up bringing me to daycare to see all my friends and play chase. I sleep throughout the night in a kennel. Sometimes my sight is not great with different lighting which can make it difficult to see dark objects, whether it’s clothing, hats, or strangers. I may get startled, bark suddenly, and quickly move closer to see you. It may take me a few seconds to recognize you and turn back into my wiggle butt again. Deaf dogs can be challenging at times and require patience. Please research and make sure you can fully commit to adopting a deaf dog and meeting their needs prior to applying to adopt.
