If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Burtha, an energetic Chihuahua X rescued from a high kill shelter where I was found as a stray. I'm grateful to CARL for giving me the chance to find my forever home. I'm shy and unsure around new people, so I may need to get to know you over a few visits. Once I get to know you I love to be held and be with my person. Best home for me would be adult only where I'd be showered with love and attention. I can get quite frisky, jumping on my long back legs. I need daily exercise. I enjoy my version of fetch and sometimes I will bring a toy back to be thrown again. I enjoy car rids too. I will try to dart out open doors at home, so care will need to be taken when opening doors and I am around. I enjoy burrowing under a blanket. I can jump higher than one may think to get onto a counter or table top. Care must be taken that I don't have access to things I shouldn't eat. I will sit and stay for a treat. I come when called unless there is something else I'd rather be doing. I need leash training. I also need to get used to being handled by more than one person. I tend to get attached to one person.
