Heartland generally serves Indiana, Kentucky and the Cincinnati areas. However we cannot cover every area. We do work with our sister and brother rescues in other areas as well. Please consider your local Sheltie rescue before applying outside your area. We will NOT ship our available dogs. A home visit by a volunteer is required before an application can be approved. ******************************************************************************************** Buzz (named for Buzz Aldrin, the astronaut!) Do you like to throw a frisbee or toss a ball? This handsome sheltie LOVES to play! Buzz is a young, 3 yr old, neutered male sable sheltie, heartworm negative, current on all vaccinations. This clever guy is perfect in the house, housetrained, and crate trained. He likes to be under your feet in the kitchen because sometimes good things fall from above. Buzz loves toys and playing with them and is always ready for a rousing game of tug. Being such a smart boy, he knows sit, down and stay. He loves to go for walks and is usually great on the leash unless he really gets excited, then hang on! He is a typical sheltie meaning he can be vocal, really wants to chase anything moving and tries to herd everyone. Buzz needs a quiet home with low stimulation. If something moves, he wants to chase it! If it's a cat, he wants to get it! He will need to be crated when his human is away. Buzz has a good deal of anxiety and left to his own devices he can be quite creative. Buzz is a world class cuddler! He loves to sit next to his person with his head on their lap and snooze but then he's also up for a game of fetch at a moments notice, too!
