Callie, ~18 month old spayed Pointer/Beagle (best guess). Currently 45 pounds. She is a very smart girl who loves people and playing with polite dogs! She and several other dogs, including three littermates, were rescued from a situation near Malone, NY where their carer was overwhelmed. It is likely that she spent most of her life in a kennel run, so she will need help with housebreaking, walking on leash and experiencing the world. For unknown reasons, Callie is very fearful of men. While she may warm up eventually, she would be more comfortable living with at least one female human. Callie has a lot of love to give and will be a great companion for a person or family willing to take the time to work with her. A fenced yard and a polite, active dog to play with or an active person are preferred because she is very busy and inquisitive. She's definitely not a couch potato, but is learning to settle nicely! Probably too playful for most cats. Application at http://capp-petplacement.org/adopt/ Submission of a completed application is the first step in the adoption process. If you have specific questions, email [email protected] (preferred) or call and leave a message at 518-292-0555. $200 adoption fee payable at the beginning of a three-week trial placement.
