My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Cannellini, 3mo old, female, pit bull/boxer mix, 12 pounds. Cannellini is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport once an approved adopter is lined up! Puppies under 6 months of age are placed on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered. Cannellini and her siblings - Chickpea, Lima and Pinto - were found by one of our fosters in San Antonio. She has been around other dogs (including and other than her siblings), cats, and children. We typically recommend homes with kids over the age of 10yrs, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. We expect this litter to be a large breed - pit bull and boxer. Adult female pit bulls typically weigh somewhere around 30-50lbs. Like any good pittie pup, Cannellini is energetic and playful and full of crazy - the good kind! She loves playing and romping around, enjoys giving kisses, belly rubs, and taking all of the tasty snacks you can offer. Cannellini has been working on her house training but adopters should expect additional training is needed. Cannellini is learning how and when to use the pee pad, and is comfortable in a puppy pin. As she is still a young girl, she will need training on being in a crate and how to walk on a leash. Structure and routine go long ways in establishing good house manners. For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home for 6 hours or more, please specify on the application who will be with the puppy during the time you are away. The ideal home would be one that is excited for the joys and challenges that come with raising a puppy, one who will provide training and structure. Training can be self taught or through the use of professional resources. A home that understands there is a lot of learning for a young dog and is wiling to be patient through the process. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
