My Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13717
Hello Everyone! My name is Cardi and I live in the middle of a forest. Foster mom says if you are looking for a pocket Doberman, I may be just right for you. I am black and tan, and built like a Doberman, but much, much smaller. I am not rough and tumble -- I like to be petted, to play with stuffed squeaky toys, and to hang out on soft beds. Foster mom says I have starburst patterns on my paws -- not sure what that means but she seems to think it is pretty cute. Well, I am here and waiting; hope to see you soon. Love, Cardi.
Foster mom has learned this about Miss Cardi:
Cardi is a brave and cheerful pup, having made great progress in coming out of her shell in just the first 24 hours in her new foster home.
Estimated to be eight months old, and now weighs about 30 pounds (but could easily slim down a pound or two).
Working on house training and leash manners, she already walks quite well on treks through the forest.
Cardi has an adorable underbite and the cutest coloring on her little paws-- her toes are marked in black on her little tan paws making them look like little starbursts.
Has been friendly towards foster mom's grumpy GSD female and gets quite excited about seeing her.
Gentle as a lamb, very quiet and thoughtful -- she gazes at foster moms very searchingly at times, and foster mom wonders what she is pondering.

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
