My Story
The name is Carl. Do you like to walk? Me too! Like to Run? Me too! Hiking? I am game! Listen, I was a street dog, before being taken in by The Second Hand Dog Rescue. I have stories to tell, but that is a moot point at this time. I have found what the finer things in life are and that is where I want to start. I'm a whopping 12 pounds and love walking, running or whatever you wanna do!! I have to admit, watching a movie on the couch is just as amazing! Honestly, I am just looking for my new family and BFF.
A word from my foster mom: Carl is 12 lbs of LOVE and loves nothing more than being with you. You will have the same response if you leave for 5 minutes or a few hours: he exudes excitement as soon as he sees you. He is a confident dog, who gets along with other dogs; however the dogs need to be confident and patient. Carl loves to play and can sound aggressive, but he is assertive and determined to get other dogs to play with him, but it can sound aggressive-BUT he is NOT. He loves playing with his current resident dogs and will nap with them on couch.
Carl is housetrained and will use the bathroom outside, but his new BFF will need to make sure he going out regularly AND that he does all his business. He can/will do all of his business outside, but given the opportunity (especially if it is cold/raining), he will come back in right away and have an accident. He also has little ways to let you know he needs to go out.
Carl LOVES to run and he will do laps in he yard. He loves running with a resident dog and, man he is quite an athlete. He is also happy just going for a walk and is a gentleman on a leash.
Overall, I think cuddling in bed at the end of the night is his favorite thing ever. He loves to snuggle up right next to you and will sleep right through the night. He wakes up in the morning and is excited to see you and will attack you with smooches!! Carl is good company, handsome with those light brown eyes and ears, and may not have had an easy start in life, but will be everything you expect from a best friend.
Like many chihuahuas, he'd be best in a home with older kids only, although we feel he'd do best in a home that's on the quieter side, as far as lots of people in and out all the time (like if someone had teenager with their friends in and out a lot, that might unsettle him a bit). So a couple without kids or single person might be his perfect match!
