Our gorgeous Carla is a Mastiff/Pitbull Terrier mix weighing in at around 72 lbs. This young girl (approximate birthday November 2022) found herself as a stray on the run in Carlisle Iowa area for at least a week before being trapped by our friends at Paws of Hope; she completed a 7 day stray hold and officially entered the care of Hope early May. She is thriving and made so many gains since coming into foster care. You need to meet her to truly appreciate this sweet gem! Carla LOVES to be with other dogs and her humans. She is in a foster home with two Great Danes and three dog savvy cats and has done well previously playing with a little puppy too. A fenced in yard is needed for continued exercise and play as she has been afforded and loves. She does well walking on a leash overall. She is crate trained and is crated when her foster humans leave. Carla can be a little cautious of meeting new people and is quicker to trust now and is even starting day camp with new furry friends and humans! She has enjoyed camping with her foster family too and has done well. We don't know her history with children, but their loudness and unpredictable quick movement causes her concern. A home with no young/little children is needed for Carla. The cats in the foster home are dog savvy and if there are cats in your home she would need them to be dog savvy.
