Carlos

UPDATE 7-5: Carlos has been at MCHS for over three months and he is getting depressed and has kennel stress. We need to find him a home soon. He did go into a foster home a month ago for a week but the foster home had prior commitments out of town and couldn't keep him longer. The foster home said he did very well and was a very good dog.
The shelter staff and a veteran volunteer have contacted over a dozen Rotti Rescues, have posted Carlos on community rescue sites in the states of WI, IL, MI, IN and have even posted and contacted National animal rescues. We have also contacted other local shelters. But we have not had any luck for Carlos.
The shelter staff and volunteers are walking him 5 times a day to help relieve his stress and doing a variety of things to keep his mood up. He is a gentle dog who needs an adult, cat free home, and we would like to get him into a forever home asap. We have to do what is best for him, and we are trying everything we can think of - so we are asking if anyone can grant Carlos wish and give him a home for the rest of his life.

ORIGINAL WRITE UP Carlos is a people loving male 10 year old Rottweiler. He is at the humane society because his former owner turned him in because couldn't keep him any longer. His former owner had rescued Carlos originally 5 years ago from an neglectful situation. His former owner took him in and gave him a loving home for the past 5 years.
Carlos is a older, senior fellow who is best in a cat free and adult home.

Breaking news!!Carlos can be with some other dogs! The Dog Whisperer, Andrew Bek has come to the shelter to work with Carlos! Carlos was introduced to a few dogs and got along with some of them!! This is a WONDERFUL breakthrough!! In fact Andrew has offered to come to the shelter and introduce your dog to Carlos - PLUS is willing to give a free lesson to any person who adopts Carlos!! Carlos is house-trained, and can be left for about 8 hours and is fine. He walks like a gem. No pulling or barking. He is also great with strangers. He enjoys being petted, going for walks, and laying around. He knows the commands sit, stay, down and loves to play with rope toys. One of his best things in the world is to be brushed and he loves baths.
He is a well-mannered, Meet Your Match purple Couch Potato! He's a relaxed laid-back fellow with just the right amount of energy for someone looking for a easy going buddy. If you are looking for a slower pace, coffee walking partner, who has just enough energy to go for a long rambling walk; come home and hang out with you being your best friend...maybe while you watch tv or read a book, please consider this older gentleman. He is more than deserving of a retirement home after 10 year of his life.
