Casper

Casper is a delight! This little guy is just a tiny bit timid but comes out of his shell very quickly with gentle, kind handling. We say "little guy" because although he looks like a husky/white German shepherd mix and is listed as a "large" dog, Casper's just about 50-55 pounds. We've tried to include photos here that show both his endearing personality and the frustration of now living in a boarding kennel after being rescued from life on a tether. Casper spent his first year as a backyard dog, tied up all day with no attention and no shelter. We were able to rescue him because of an offer to foster, but that soon changed and now Casper is stuck in boarding! Casper went from spending all his time tied up by himself in a yard, to a foster home where he needed time to settle in, learn the rules, and learn to relax. He didn't get the time he needed. Now, Casper needs a foster or adopter who is committed to being patient with him. It's likely to take him a few weeks to really settle down, and it may be frustrating at first for a foster or adopter. But with time, patience, and gentle handling, it will get better.
