My Story

Come meet Casper at our adoption event, Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Inn at Cass Lake, 900 N. Cass Lake Rd. in Waterford. Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be available for adoption. Mobile dog grooming, obedience demonstrations and 3:00 doggie fashion show. Bring your pup and your family and enjoy an afternoon of fun.

Loving, sweet little Casper is in desperate need of a new home. His owner very suddenly passed away, leaving him without a home. The police brought him to the city animal shelter - how scary for Casper to suddenly go from a beloved home with his dad to a loud, scary place surrounded by barking dogs and strangers. He is the nicest dog - very friendly, mellow and laid back. Casper is good with other dogs, cats and birds. He is approximately 9-10 years old, weighing 23 lbs and looking for love. Casper is an "easy" dog - low energy level, happy, smiling with tail wagging. He has a heart of gold and loving, innocent eyes. Casper was neglected prior to being dumped at the animal shelter. He came to us with a skin infection, which is improving, unaltered and craving love. Casper has a heart murmur too and we are checking his thyroid to see if that caused the skin problem. Poor dog needs a patient, loving family or person. He will be a loyal, affectionate companion for life. If you're looking for a sweetheart to be your new best friend, please give Casper a chance. Adoption fee: $75. Casper is neutered, heartworm negative and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He also recently had a teeth cleaning.

Adoption Process:
Send an email to [email protected] to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week trial run with the pet as part of your family. This is a trial period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the trial time and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption.
