My Story
I'll be there for you
(When the rain starts to pour)
I'll be there for you
(Like I've been there before)
I'll be there for you
('Cause you're there for me too)......
Meet everyone's favorite FRIEND, Chandler!
Chandler was saved from the euthanasia list (due to not having enough space) at our local shelter because someone stepped up to foster him. COULD THAT BE ANY MORE CRAZY? (said in Chandler Bing voice) This little guy is estimated to be about two years old. He was underweight when we rescued him from the shelter, but he's been able to get up to about 45 pounds now which seems to be a good weight for him.
Chandler might be a dog but his golden brown eyes definitely give him more pit-o-potamus vibes. No need to worry about potty training Chandler; he's already got that covered and only does his business outside. He loves his morning walkies followed by good, long naps. His favorite things to do are snuggle, play with his toys, go on neighborhood walks, and eat. On walks, he is a loose-leash fella who just enjoys the casual stroll.
One thing to know about Chandler is that he is a quick learner. He does "sit" consistently. He knows "kennel" and goes to his crate when you say the magic word. He also likes his kennel for naps, so long as he has his favorite squeaky toy of the day to keep him company in there. "Down" and "wait" are getting there! Chandler is a fast learner when it comes to learning new tricks, and boy oh boy does his face light up when he finally gets a new trick right. He is very proud to show off how smart he is.
Got other dogs in the house? No problem! Chandler's superlative in puppy high school was "Most Likely to Hang." He's good with our big, senior pup and also likes to play with our little yippy mutt. He is a non-discriminatory buddy when it comes to his fellow pup friends. While he can be a little territorial with his toys, he's gotten much better with this as he learned to trust us more. "Drop it" is another trick he's learning and he's doing really well so far.
Chandler LOVES food, but is definitely not one of those picky foodie types. He'll eat ANYTHING. Since his consumption style definitely leans towards "the more the merrier," we use a slow feeder for him and that does the trick. To Chandler, there is no such thing as too many treats, and he is always very gentle in taking them.
Like fetch? Chandler is your guy. Like to sit outside and watch the squirrels? Chandler is up for that too. Wanna sit on the couch and watch movies? Chandler is good to hang. Big on the slow lean move, he loves to just lay on top of you and take a snooze. With his big marshmallow soft jowls, you'll often hear his little hum snore while he sleeps. If that doesn't melt your heart, I don't know what will!
