Chaplin

CHAPLIN, aka Happy Chappy, is an absolute gem of a dog. How this boy landed in a rural shelter is a mystery. Chaplin is a 2ish year old 33 pound beagle-typed mixed breed boy. The rest of his mix is anyone's guess. We cannot say enough good things about Chaplin. He has lovely leash manners, knows sit, takes direction/correction easily, rides perfectly in the car and is just generally an all around very good boy. Chaplin is a very playful dog but can be timid in new situations and when meeting new people. He warms up quickly, especially if you have treats. He appears to have been well cared for, he's a healthy weight with a nice shiny coat. Chaplin is dog friendly, not cat tested yet. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter or you can meet Chaplin at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog's veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog's final adoption fee.
