Oh, Charlene - how she stole the volunteer's hearts during her photoshoot. She is so scared at the shelter, forever having a timid look on her sweet face. She found comfort when the volunteer got on the ground with her...she came over and sat on her lap where she preferred to stay. By the end of the session, she did warm up a bit. In the home environment, she will just need a few days to decompress and then her true, wonderful personality will start to flourish. During a recent playgroup session, Charlene did not enjoy being approached by other dogs. She may be best in a home where she is the only dog or in a home where slow introductions over the course of several days can be given for her to build trust. Charlene is a low-energy, gentle, and calm female dog. She walks well on a leash with no pulling and knows how to sit, taking treats gently. As one of the volunteers said, "Charlene loves hugs and kisses". Charlene wants you all to herself and needs to be the only dog in the house. Come on over and meet this great dog! Time to cuddle!
