My Story

Meet Charlie! This guy is sweet, petite, and only has three feet. What happened to the fourth? Who knows! Charlie came into the shelter as a stray tripod. He doesn't let that missing limb bother him though, so you shouldn't either. 6 years old and only about 25lbs, this little sir is a bit of a mystery mutt. Some say he looks like a Mountain Cur, some say Whippet, but we just say he's a brindle beauty. In his current home, Charlie is described as an easy keeper; he enjoys running and romping in his fenced yard, couch naps, and of course exercising his rights as a lapdog. Already house trained, crate trained, and a nice leash walker he has the major stuff figured out and is ready to learn more. Charlie can be a bit timid with new men in particular and can sometimes get spooked easily. However, he adores kids, ignores cats, and enjoys the company of other dogs his size (dogs larger are unknown). Described as gentle and eager to please, once you get past his timid exterior, he is an absolute gem of a dog. Charlie will make a great sidekick to just about anyone with a soft spot for underdogs. His family says, "Charlie is a sweetheart who loves to snooze and snuggle! When he gets outside, you'd never think he only has three legs- he can race and keep up with the best of them. He's eager to please and just wants a few good head scratches. He knows how to sit and takes direction well. Loves to relax with adults, kids, and other animals alike. He can be a little anxious but loves with all his heart! And who can resist those eyes?! All Charlie needs now is the perfect family to be with!" Charlie is available for adoption with pickup in North Dartmouth on Friday, August 16th. To be considered, please fill out an application on www.browndogcoalition.com as a first step.
