It's so easy to look at Charlie and see only his breed combination or his glamorous looks, but he is much, much more -- he's a sweet-natured, slightly bewildered puppy who needs a loving home.
Charlie has been lovingly cared for during his short life. He is being rehomed due to circumstances beyond his owners' control (ones that were completely unrelated to Charlie -- they would be glad to vouch to that). Although enthusiastic and full of puppy optimism, we also see a hint of confusion in his eyes. When he's not happily playing with one of his foster siblings, we sometimes catch him looking at the door, as if he's waiting for his family to return. At times like that, we are reminded that although Charlie is a big tall guy, he is still just a baby who needs to be looked after, cuddled and nurtured.
Charlie is mostly house-trained, and plays very well with other puppies here; he's not overly aggressive or assertive and he responds submissively when one of the other dogs challenges him. He would make a great companion for another dog. He also gets along well with kids, although he is a big puppy and could knock some of the smaller ones down in his happy enthusiasm, so he's
At four months, Charlie is definitely big and tall, so he's going to likely be a 75+ pounder. He's got puppy energy and the effortless movements of a poodle - not quite as elegant, but the influence is there. He has some beginning training, and knows sit and down, but the training will need to continue to be sure that he's manageable as he gets bigger.
Now, onto Charlie's parentage. Charlie is a unique dog -- what experts might call a "Shroodle." His mother was half Shepherd, half Rottweiler (bred deliberately, so we know that she is 50/50), and his father was the purebred standard poodle next door who jumped the fence. He resembles nothing more than a labradoodle when you see him in the fur.
However, Charlie is much more than a marvelous mutt -- he is a sweet, loving soul who would love to have a home of his own.
