My Story

Friends, this sweet boy is Charlie. His story is a common one in a military town. This sweet boy belonged to a military family that had orders to move and didn't include him. He had been neglected and was flea infested, never having any vaccinations or seen by a vet. Kind neighbors, also military, took him in. They have taken him into a vet and found he is in good health. He is Heart worm negative, now on preventatives, flea medication and up to date on all vaccines. Also, he was just recently neutered. Unfortunately, his new family is having to move as they are renting and the landlord is selling their house. This means they are having to move in with other family on short notice. Please help us to end this rehoming cycle and help us find Charlie's forever home as soon as possible. He is used to being an inside dog with going outside several times a day.Charlie is good with other dogs, cats, and children. Vetting: All of our dogs are microchipped and UTD on vaccines: Distemper-Parvo w/Lepto, Bordetella, and Rabies (if age appropriate). They receive monthly flea/heartworm prevention while in our care and receive fecal and heartworm testing. Most of our dogs are de-wormed at least twice unless we receive negative fecal results. They are spayed or neutered or pending a spay or neuter (unless age or a health condition precludes this). Adoption Application: If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website for more information and to fill out an adoption application. A meet and greet cannot be scheduled until we receive and adoption application. No exceptions. Foster-to-Adopt Program: All of our dogs are available to foster prior to adoption. This means the dog can stay are you now instead of waiting! During this time, Castaways will continue to provide remaining medical vetting and any supplies you might need! This includes but is not limited to: food, crates, bowls, collars/leashes, toys, etc. View our forms and policies page for more information. Unsure about making a commitment just yet? Please consider fostering until you find the right pupper for you, especially if you are a first-time dog owner. With fostering, instead of saving one dog, you can help save 10 dogs! https://form.jotform.com/201795240513147
