Charlie

Meet Charlie! This playful lovebug would be a perfect addition to a home with or without dogs. He loves belly rubs, playing fetch, and just spending time with his people. Charlie is SUPER smart! He learned his name, "no," and "sit" all in the first week in his foster home. He is potty trained and kennel trained. You can leave this guy alone during the day to go to work without issues since he's very well-adjusted and doesn't have separation anxiety. Charlie would make a great running or hiking buddy. If your family isn't active but you're looking for a dog who is, he also does well on walks and loves loves loves chasing a tennis ball or a stick. (The labrador instincts are strong with this one!) He does great with other dogs. Charlie has been around dozens of other dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, and he is very well adjusted, friendly, playful. and confident in all of these interactions. Charlie was found tied up under a Houston highway. We think his owners were trying to give him his best shot of being found by a rescuer since large black dogs in Texas shelters are almost always euthanized for space. He was so super lucky that we found him, and we hope you'l help his lucky streak continue as his adopter! He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and ready to get to his furever home! He is currently in Houston but will arrive on a rescue van transport once his Washington adopters are lined up. Foster to adopt will be considered for this guy since we are sure that once you meet him you'll also fall head over heels in love with him like we did.
