Charlotte's great beauty is matched by her exceptionally loving nature.
Blessed with a trusting outlook that expects, and intends, only good, Charlotte greets everyone she encounters with joy and friendship. She offers her trust and her kindness unconditionally. In this regard, Charlotte is very vulnerable, and her great capacity to love has earned our respect and devotion.
Charlotte is almost fully house-trained, and solid in the commands "sit" and "down". She enhances her "down" by rolling over, in ardent hope of a belly rub. She is touchingly responsive in her desire for attention, yet we would not call her a "needy" dog - Charlotte truly seeks a bond with humans - one she can count on, and reciprocate. She would shine in any form of training because of her desire to be purposeful, needed, and loved. She is so keenly alert to cues that she responds immediately to simple eye contact, hoping that she may be of use, or simply of importance.
Physically, Charlotte is a bit finer-boned than a purebred Golden Retriever, but she is still quite sturdy. Her muzzle is dark, and her eye contact is very direct, honest, and soft. She is wonderfully playful - filled with energy and enterprise when those pursuits are appropriate; when she is not at play, she settles calmly, and waits.
Charlotte shines with the sweetness and gentle faith that we associate with Golden Retrievers; there is also a depth of heart and spirit in Charlotte that has brought her this far - and will take her all the way home.
